With a thriving record label, non-stop releases and a number one hit, things have been considerably heating up for DJ Alexander Technique. His dedication to production, especially this year, has proven to be fruitful in many ways and has reminded us that he is one of the most innovative producers around today. “Where You Are” is the most recent addition to his already impressive discography. This collaboration with heavyweights Harry Romero and Junior Sanchez and vocal extraordinaire Shawnee Taylor, was picked up by Steve Angello and released on his label Size. Pete Tong, David Guetta, Andy Norman, Dirty South and Laidback Luke have supported the Beatport exclusive track, which in a matter of one week reached number one on Beatport’s Main and House Charts.
Through the release world-wide heavy-hitters, his label, Djs Are Not Rockstars, has distinguished itself in the electronic music scene for its exploration of new musical concepts and cultural diversity. In many ways, DANR records reflects Technique’s non-uniform approach towards music, encompassing some of the world’s most renowned producers along side new blooded electronic artists under one umbrella, all producing various genres of dance music. This up-and-coming label is off to an outstanding start with releases featuring the talents of Sia, Princess Superstar, Felix Da Housecat, Larry Tee and Lauren Flax.
We must of course recall that all of Technique’s ingenuity stems from the accumulated years of experience and hard work. His past reveals him to be one of the most knowledgeable and experienced artists in today’s electronic music scene. Dj Alexander Technique was once known for being one of the pioneer Djs that mixed rock with rap, electro, techno, and house to create a wild collage of everything people wanted to hear on the dancefloor. Although today this format might seem quite familiar, in the 90’s the idea of DJs mashing genres together in a set was revolutionary. Finally, Technique brings a raw energy and talent to the stage that is guaranteed to turn crowds upside-down and leave them wanting more.
